Visiting our beautiful city?
Here are the best, most photogenic spots to take engagement photos.
Beautiful Boston! Our city is so picturesque. Ivy covered brick, quaint cobblestone streets, immaculate historic landmarks, sailboats on the river, manicured greenery and vast city skylines.
There is no shortage of gorgeous backdrops here.
Here’s my love poem to Boston (in photos)…
Boston: a love story.
I moved here on a whim for college. A freshly 18 former-Floridian who never learned to dress for the cold, nor drive on snow. I was the epitome of a fish out of water. (I still don’t really know how to dress for the cold - what do you mean I can’t wear a crop top in January?)
To be honest, after college I was ready to leave Boston - I wanted to try new places, I wanted to see the world. The reason I stayed was my business, which had grown more than my wildest dreams. This business has brought me places I never fathomed, and success I didn’t think possible as a freelance creative (huge thank you to everyone who supported me back then, and since)
So, I lived other places since - and yet, I keep coming back. For half the year (avoiding winter, you bet), a month or three, wedding season, a few select weddings…
There’s a funny thing about working as a photographer - well, I want to work in a beautiful place. I’ve traveled the world, I’ve lived all over the USA - yet Boston remains where my business is based, where I keep returning to with my camera - because of the beautiful places and beautiful people I connect with and photograph here.
After hundreds of weddings, countless photo shoots and thousands of people photographed in beautiful Boston, I’m pleased to say I know my way around this sweet city.

Acorn Street
Yes, it’s worth the hype. This is quintessential Beacon Hill - a cobblestone street, lined with ivy-covered brick buildings, bay windows with hand-forged iron gates and flower boxes overflowing with seasonal plants and color.
This is a popular tourist photo-op! If you want a photo with no pedestrians in the background, I highly recommend you come during an off-peak time. Ask your photographer when is best to plan for this stop along your route.
People live here, PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL!
Beacon Hill
Beacon Hill IS New England charm. It’s practically perfect.
Take a stroll off the beaten path (Charles Street) and be charmed by Boston’s cutest (and oldest) neighborhood.
The South End
A sweet neighborhood with a mix of greenery and urban charm. And a great area for a post-shoot dinner or cocktail.
The T
It’s our metro, our subway, our train… it’s called the “T”!
Whether it’s an intentional destination or just your transportation from one location to another, couples photos on the T are SO cute.
Boston Public Garden
Our central park, this gorgeous greenspace is perfect for photos (and for a moment of serenity and nature amongst downtown). Lush greenery, a historic bridge, plenty of picnic space, amazing peoplewatching… this park is free, always open, and large - there are plenty of places to explore and photograph.
I love watching the leaves change color and new plants be planted seasonally. The spring tulips are my favourite.
Charles River
This famed river separates the cities of Boston and Cambridge. There are plenty of footbridges to cross over the river (they make for gorgeous backdrops, too).
If you’ve planned to stop in the Boston Public Garden for your engagement shoot, take the footbridge at Arlington Street to cross Storrow Drive and get to the small park that lines the Charles - a great spot for photos at sunset.
Fenway Park
Home of the Red Sox and not to be forgotten! This is a fun area of town and worth a trip - right at or after sunset is great for photos here, to capture some energy of the city.
400 photo shoots and counting! Crazy! Thank you, thank you thank you.
I’m so proud to be capturing love stories in this beautiful city. I love to hear your stories that have led your love to Boston.

Romantic fall wedding in a greenhouse
Is Roger Williams Botanical Garden my favourite venue? Maybe. Is Rhode Island my favourite state? Maybe… Another gorgeous greenhouse wedding right outside Providence. K & M’s wedding day was romantic and so full of love.
As a wedding photographer in New England and a former resident of Rhode Island (is it my favourite state? Maybe) there are a few venues that always feel like home—and Roger Williams Botanical Garden is one of our absolute favorites. When Sister City was asked to photograph yet another fall wedding there (fall is the best time of year) I couldn’t wait to capture the magic of this gorgeous, botanical setting once again. From the lush greenery to the whimsical touches of vibrant fall colors, this wedding was the perfect blend of romance, tradition, and modern elegance. Thank you, Kristina & Mike, for having me document this magickal day!
Roger Williams Botanical Garden was the perfect backdrop for this celebration of love. The stunning greenhouse, with its towering tropical plants and lush greenery, created a romantic and exotic atmosphere that couldn’t be matched. We captured several beautiful portraits of the couple in this space, with soft, natural light pouring in from the glass ceiling and illuminating the couple in the most flattering way. The lush plants created a sense of intimacy and natural beauty that was a photographer’s dream. Did I mention that I love this venue?!
The bride's gown was a true vision of timeless elegance—simple yet striking, with a sleek silhouette that made her glow as she walked down the aisle. Understated, and full of beauty. The groom looked equally dashing, and was SO photogenic and happy to pose for couples’ portraits (guys, we loveee that), looking every bit the part of the proud partner ready to start this new chapter with his love.
Another amazing thing about weddings at Roger Williams Botanical Garden… it’s surrounded by the massive Roger Williams Park - a dream come true for a variety of photography backdrops, within a very close distance. K & M and I were able to take photos around the park and incorporate gorgeous autumn leaves, waterfront views, and the iconic Temple to Music - giving of Grecian palace vibes - all within 5 minutes of the wedding venue.
Wedding party, family and guests alike all looked dapper and sophisticated in their suits and colorful boutonnieres.
Speaking of the boutonnieres… One of the highlights of this wedding was the flowers. The couple worked with a local florist who brought their vision to life with a vibrant, autumn-inspired palette. The bouquet was a striking mix of magenta, deep pinks, and rich purples, complemented by pops of orange and yellow, capturing the essence of fall in New England. The florals were funky and fun, with unexpected textures and colors that added personality and charm to every corner of the venue.
K & M started off the reception party with the most adorable choreographed dance routine, and then danced the night away under the glow of the moon shining in through the greenhouse glass above. A beautiful evening to celebrate a beautiful love story. Congrats, Kristina and Mike!

Greenhouse golden goddess bride - Roger Williams Botanical Garden wedding
Magical golden goddess wedding on a full moon at Roger Williams Botanical Garden Greenhouse in Providence / Cranston, Rhode Island. RI wedding photographer. Photos by Sister City Photography
Just outside of Providence, Rhode Island, lies a verdant oasis of romance and botanical splendor – the Roger Williams Botanical Garden. Nestled within this lush haven, a picturesque wedding unfolded - truly, what full moon golden goddess greenhouse nature-loving witchy wedding dreams are made of - casting a spell of enchantment on all who were fortunate enough to witness its beauty…
We are forever reveling in this dreamy wedding day - a fairy tale greenhouse adorned with nature's finest, where every corner reveals a new wonder - tropical plants, cacti, a koi pond, Venusian statues, a secret garden…
This was the backdrop for a breathtaking celebration of love, where every detail shimmered (like Grace’s gold gown!) with elegance and charm.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the botanical garden greenhouse, vows were exchanged amongst family, friends, a rising full moon, greenery, and Grace’s gorgeous golden gown.
The wedding party mirrored this elegance in their attire, donning stylish, fun colorful gowns and suits that added a playful yet sophisticated touch to the affair. Against the backdrop of the botanical garden's vibrant hues, they stood out like vibrant blooms in a sea of green.
But it wasn't just the attire that captured hearts – it was the DIY floral decor and beautiful touches that adorned every corner of the venue. From whimsical bouquets to intricately crafted centerpieces, each element was a testament to the couple's creativity and dedication to making their day truly unforgettable.
For those seeking their own fairy tale wedding, the Roger Williams Botanical Garden offers an unparalleled setting of romance and natural beauty. With its lush greenery, enchanting greenhouse, and endless opportunities for personalized touches, it's one of our favorite venues.

We know Bisbee!
The Courtyard
A popular venue for its adorable bar full of unique, antique treasures, and cozy outdoor space to dance the night away under the stars. Located in the heart of Brewery Gulch so the afterparty can continue just a few steps away. A wedding fav!
Juniper Flats
A winding drive up above the Mule Pass Tunnel leads to Juniper Flats - pull over at the white wall for expansive views overlooking the valley. There are a few hikes up here that are worth the trek.
The Bisbee Grand Hotel
Fancy a haunted hotel room? The Victorian Suite is quite picturesque. Here’s our blog post from this A + T’s Bisbee wedding with a photoshoot at the historic Bisbee Grand.
Broadway Stairs
An ever-changing and always colorful outdoor art gallery.
Bisbee Courthouse
The iconic ivory art deco courthouse makes a perfect backdrop for a wedding ceremony or photo shoot.
Lowell, AZ
Outside of Old Bisbee is the most colorful “ghost town” you’ll ever see - a street of funky old cars and buildings, located right on the edge of Bisbee’s mining pit, adding to the surreal feeling of this place seemingly stuck in time. Lowell is a tourist favorite, and for good reason. Endless photo opportunities here, just a few minutes away from old town and totally worth the trip.
Downtown Old Bisbee
Plenty to see and photograph on Main Street in Old Bisbee. Have a wander down Subway Street, too, for a little less foot traffic and some interesting textures and historic brick buildings.
Night time on main street
After the hustle and bustle of your wedding ceremony, take a moment with your hunny to wander down to Main Street for a twirl under Bisbee’s year-round festive string lights.
I’m so proud to be capturing love stories in our sweet small town. I love to hear your stories that have led your love to Bisbee.
